The British Council’s British Films Catalogue has been available online at britfilms.com since 1998. The Catalogue started life in 1934 but in its current form it has been around since the mid-1970's.
This online version contains a continuously expanding record of British features, shorts, documentaries and animations. Its extensive archive of British films extends back to 1998.
Each entry contains a brief synopsis, along with information on sales agent(s), production company, cast and crew.

The information provided is collated annually for publication in the print version of the British Films Catalogue. All eligible features are included in this, along with shorts accepted on our short film festival submission scheme
What films are eligible?
In order for your work to qualify as a British film or co-production, it needs to meet the British film identity criteria as defined by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the UK Film Council (UKFC).
Co-productions with British input count as British films.
Important information
The films and credits in this catalogue are those submitted by their producers/sales agents for inclusion, and credits are not contractual. The catalogue is not an exhaustive record of British film production.
