Categories: International Competition (full-length features); Filmmakers of the Present Competition (films that are radical and innovative in their approach, subject or style, that question both the complexities of contemporary life and cinema itself), Piazza Grande (films which, while being spectacular and entertaining, have an innovative capacity in style and content); Leopards of Tomorrow (short and medium-length films presented in two competitions: one international, the second dedicated to Swiss short films); Here and Elsewhere (a choice of films, documentaries and fiction, sharing an original vision of contemporary life, which touch on politics and history as much as they do society and the arts); Play Forward (At the junction of cinema, video art and all the other arts, resolutely facing the future, this section is the privileged look-out post on all kinds of contemporary audiovisual experimentation); Critics' Week
Requirements: 16mm, 35mm, High Definition and Standard Definition video. Entries must have been completed during the 12 months before festival and should not have participated in other European international festivals.
Awards: Golden Leopard (best film), Silver Leopard (second best film), Leopard for best actor and actress, Filmmakers of the Present Golden Leopard, Leopards of Tomorrow Golden Leopard
