Monday 14 April, 5pm at The Hospital, 24 Endell Street, London WC2
In recent years Israeli films have been celebrated worldwide, screening at prestigious film festivals, winning awards and receiving praise from critics and audiences alike. Yet they are rarely on general release in the UK; UK-Israeli co-productions are almost unheard of; and local audiences are exposed to Israeli cinema almost solely through festival exhibition.
To find out more about the Israeli film industry and the specific challenges it faces in the UK, come and meet some of its key figures: Katriel Schori, Director of the Israeli Film Fund; Marek Rozenbaum, a leading film producer and Chairman of the Israeli Academy for Cinema and Television; independent producer Amir Harel; Ruth Diskin, Director of the Jerusalem-based international marketing and distribution company, Ruth Diskin Films; and Robin Grbich of Trinity, the UK distributor of the Oscar-nominated film Beaufort.
The discussion will be chaired by independent producer and Managing Director of Met Films, Jonny Persey.
The event will be followed by a reception at the Hospital Bar.
Admission is free but spaces are limited ,so please RSVP at: 02031 760 048 Published on www.britfilms.com March 4, 2008
