Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival 2009    BACK TO PREVIOUS PAGE

Have you made a film which links to mental health? The Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival is offering filmmakers the chance to have their work exhibited across cinemas in Scotland this October, and the opportunity to be considered for one of the festival’s prestigious film awards.

Now in its third year, the festival aims to promote positive mental health in the context of equality and social justice, explore the relationship between the mind and creativity and create a dialogue with the public, the media and the arts about what mental health means to us all.

The festival is particularly interested in your understanding of mental health (films needn’t be about specific mental health issues), the meaning you take from this term, and how you have interpreted this in your work.

Films of any length and genre will be considered, and films made at any time, provided they have not been submitted to the festival before.

Submissions close Monday 3 August 2009.

For more information, guidelines and how to apply see thier website: www.mhfestival.com.
